When it comes to searching, finding and claiming unclaimed money and property, everyone should search for money that is unclaimed and maybe owed to them.
There are billions of dollars in unclaimed money and property.
So, who decides whether you are or should be the recipient of unclaimed money?
Basically, it is up to the individual, you, to prove that you are the owner of unclaimed property.
How?
You search through government unclaimed property databases where there is a listing of owners of this property. If you find your name listed, it is up to you to contact the state's unclaimed property office to verify ownership. It's really simple to do. It only takes a few minutes to verify ownership of property you found listed in an unclaimed property database.
A listing of doucuments required for ownership can be found here on our National Unclaimed page.
