Before I ever thought of building a website I had a tremendous desire to connect people with their unclaimed property.  It was about 2 years ago or maybe more like 3 years that I found an income tax check for myself.  After finding money that actually belonged to me, I felt an urge to try and connect people with unclaimed property that is listed in their names. That's when my business was created as Abundant Blessings Money Search Unclaimed Property and eventually we shortened the name down by leaving out the "Money Search" and that's how this site became name Abundant Blessings Unclaimed Property.

So, I was now on a mission.  I had a passion for connecting people to their unclaimed money.  I started by getting names out of the telephone books and then checking the unclaimed property listing to match the names from the telephone books with the unclaimed property listing.  Mind you, 2 years ago I knew nothing about building a website.  I didn't have a clue as to how to build one.   Use the Information Listing link to get the information for your state unclaimed property office.

For months and months I connected people with their unclaimed property.  I found quite a few people who had properties listed in their names.  There were some people that I contacted who were very generous when they received checks in the mail for their unclaimed assets and there were those who promised to send me a token of appreciation, but I never received anything from them.  That was okay at first, because I was so elated that I could connect people with money that was owed to them.  The more I connected owners to their unclaimed property, the more I wanted to connect others to theirs.  It actually became addictive.  I couldn't pull myself away from finding money for people and then finding the individuals for the money.

People that I found money for would eventually contact me and let me know that they did receive a check in the mail for unclaimed property.  And as they had promised, they would send me a generous donation.    I remember one gentleman that I found 6 checks for.  I found him by looking his name up and I narrowed the names down by searching for middle initials or middle name.  Sure enough, I found him.  Evidently, the 6 checks must have amounted to a nice sum, because he sent me a check for $325.  That was the largest amount that I had received from the hundreds of people that I found money for.  The majority of the people that I contacted about money that was listed in their names, received the money, they then informed me of such, but I never received donations from them.

I guess you're wondering why I did this if I wasn't being fairly compensated for the long hours and hard work? Well, even though I wasn't given the monetary value of my services, I got something more valuable out of it than money. Okay, you're asking yourself what could be more valuable than getting the money you never knew you had. Well let me tell you, when I made calls and told the owners who I was and why I was calling them, they were in total shock and yet some were skeptical as to whether my call was a legitimate one or not.  For the most part, they were happy and excited.  I was happy because I gave someone else joy when it may have been a time when things were hard for them and they needed just what they got.  A break through!  Sure enough, after they checked out the information that I gave them, they would call me back and let me know that it was money or other assets listed in their names.  What joy!  To know that I had informed the owner of unclaimed property and they were actually the rightful owners was amazing to me!  Can you imagine finding the owner of unclaimed assets that could have moved to another state or country, could have been deceased or they could have had their last names changed or whatever, I found them and they claimed what was rightfully theirs.  They would call and tell me thanks.  Sometimes that was pay enough.

Not only was it a joy to find unclaimed funds for people, but it was just as much a joy to sit and talk with them or just listen to what they had to say.  Some were elderly and lived alone and just wanted someone to talk to.  Others were going through some things and they felt comfortable enough with me to share some of those problems with me.  Because I listened to them and sometimes offered comforting words to them, it made all the difference.

It was also those times that I spoke with the owners of unclaimed property from around the United States.  They would thank me for finding money for them, whether it was $25 or $5000.  They would  call and let me know that what I had found was actually their property.  That was my mission then and it is still my mission today.  The only difference is, I have a website that gives the property owners all the information they need to find their lost funds.  It is a do it yourself type of search instead of me searching for it for them.  I haven't made any money worth talking about from this site and I haven't had any testimonies posted, but I know that there are those that have visited here, somebody has found something.  Even if they didn't find any unclaimed property, they know without any doubts whether or not they have unclaimed property listed in their names.

Working to get people connected to their unclaimed property is long hours that comes with hard work.  I enjoy every moment of it.  Because I know that when people find a substantial amount of unclaimed property, their lives can change forever.  This is my ministry that God has given me.  I am doing something to make a difference.

I'll continue this article with a followup on my joys and thrills of finding unclaimed property for potential owners as well as some of the downs of searching for properties unclaimed. The Information Listing page has the information needed to find out if you are the owner of unclaimed property.
