As you may know, after reading my first article, Connecting You With Your Money, finding money for people is not an easy task, but it is enjoyable. I started out by looking names up in the white pages to match them with names listed for unclaimed property. Even though it was hard, tedious work, I enjoyed it immensely. I enjoyed being able to contact people that may have unclaimed funds in their names and I was that link needed to connect them with these unclaimed assets. There were no words to describe how the owners of this unclaimed property felt. It also made me feel that I had a purpose in life. It may not seem like much to you, but to me, it is all about the joy and excitement of finding paychecks, insurance claims, lost bank accounts, uncashed money orders and traveler's checks and much more.
So, now that you have a summary of what my first article was all about, this article is a continuation of the first article. The first time I found some money for anyone, it was for myself. I thought that was the most awesome thing in the world, to find some cash money that I owned and had no clue that it even existed. It was an income tax check for $169.00. Well, it wasn't much, but it was awesome just the same, because it was mine and I didn't have to pay someone to find it for me. So, I'm saying that to say this, anyone searching for unclaimed property can find unclaimed cash or find unclaimed assets on their own. Paying a fee for someone else to find money that belongs to you is equivalent to being short changed for the full amount owed to you. I recommend that everyone that has ever worked, owned property, or is a beneficiary of a deceased relative to search for unclaimed property. Do a random search at least once or twice per year to verify whether or not unclaimed assets are listed in your name.
The thrill of finding money for people has been overwhelming, but, it's all good. When reading reports about the people who view my site and I realize that there are millions of people all over the world that are searching for unclaimed property, it is so amazing. By providing this information to people all around the globe, I feel that I am accomplishing something that is worthwhile. If you still are skeptical about unclaimed property, visit the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administration (NAUPA) site where they list all of the state databases.
